June 6th four weeks old

Week 4 Half way there. They now have most of their flight
feathers. It is getting warmer so I can run the 250 watt heat lamp
less. I was a little surprised how much electricity a 250 watt heat lamp
cost when you have it on 24 hours a day. Something for you to think about
if anyone is thinking about doing this.

I might do this again. It is actually very interesting to watch them grow
I am going to start on extending the chicken outside area next weekend
a little bit nerve racking, because they are sooo little when you first get the
If I do it again, I might buy a brooder tower. It might be a little more efficient
Actually I know it would as I would only be heating up the space that the chicks are
actually living in not the whole back room of the barn. I will try to get some pictures
of the area and the pen, just for documentation sake.

The book said that they could start going outside at 4 weeks, but
I don't have anything setup for letting them out and getting them back in.

Yep that is Jessica the pushy sheep, probably from the book
Sheep in a Jeep which is quite funny
especially since I own sheep and a jeep. I thought that was just a crazy rhyme,
until a friend of mine got the book for his kids

Some are actually starting to get a little tame.
But it seems like a really slow process
